Food & Clothing Resources

Dorcas Community Service provides food assistance and low-cost clothing to the community.

Food & Friends delivers meals to the homes of seniors and eligible adults who are unable to shop or prepare meals due to illness, injury, or disability. In addition to the meals they provide vital social contact and a regular safety net check to clients.

The Gospel Rescue Mission is a Christian-based organization that provides shelter for 30 days. Their Second Chance Thrift Store provides income for the shelter as well as giving residents valuable life skills.

The Illinois Valley Family Coalition is a community organization helping those in need. We do this by providing prevention, education, advocacy and referral services in partnership with other community resources.

Our Goals include building partnerships in our community to help in the fight against hunger; providing a training site for youth, women and men to regain skills and experience that help them compete in the marketplace for jobs and income producing opportunities; exploring possible business venues to help the ROC become more self sustaining; and continue reaching out to non-English speaking residents in our community that may not be aware of the ROC services and resources.

Provides food for families in need in the local community.

The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) provides federal grants to states for supplemental foods, health care referrals, and nutrition education for low-income pregnant, breastfeeding, and non-breastfeeding postpartum women, and to infants and children up to age five who are found to be at nutritional risk.

Since the early 1980's WCC Food Share has given out "free" food boxes to the needy of Williams on Tuesdays from 10am to noon. Anyone on food stamps, TANF, SSI, state subsidy, or below current poverty level qualifies for a food box once per calendar month. WCC Food share is one of the oldest Emergency Food Box distribution centers of the Josephine County Food Bank. Please call if you have questions.
